Top 5 Wes Craven Movies.

I wasn't going to post this until next week but I needed to do it. So recently a great director named Wes Craven died. Being one of my favorite directors of all time with amazing masterpieces. That is why I will make my top 5 Wes Craven movies, many of the hardcore fans may not agree with me, but remember that this is just my opinion.
Let's go!

 5.-Shocker

A low budget movie turned into a cult classic, Shocker is a great horror movie with a touch of dark comedy. One of the best movies Craven had made this comes at my fifth spot because if this was amazingly great, the other ones are more than enough to be loved. Craven planned a series for this movie, but thanks to mixed reviews not even a sequel was made. I think it is one of those movies that with the years people realized that is great, like 2001 Space Odessey.

4.-The Serpent and the Rainbow

Four words that will make you feel goosebumbs... "based on true events". Oh yeah! One of the most terrifying movies that Craven has made is based on true events, not everyone has the guts to see this great film, based on the book written by Wade Davis, who wrote it during a trip to Haiti were he saw how they used black magic and Haitian vodou to make zombies. So, be careful on your next trip to Haiti, don't let those guys give you any kind of drink.

3.-The Hills Have Eyes

With The Last House on the Left this was the movie that took Craven to the light. Being a realistic horror movie were a family was stranded on a desert in Nevada, later on a group of cannibals that born deformed by radiation due to their houses being near to the nuclear bombs tests. Nothing is more terrifying that things that can actually happen to you.

2.-Scream

One of the best slasher films of all time. Scream is not just a great movie, is a great saga that hasn't go on the wrong way with four amazing movies. But the first one is the one on the list, why? Because it was the one that started everything, having a great plot and a great questioning on the whole movie, this is one of those movies were you ask yourself who is the killer, you make you ideas but at the end it may not have been who you expected. Every single movie has that and that's why it's intersting as hell and as I told back there, nothing is more terrifying that things that can actually happen to you, so trust no one from now on.

1.-A Nightmare on Elm Street

Surprised? I don't think so. The movie that took Craven to the stars, the original Nightmare on Elm Street, we all know this movie, we all know that great antagonist that's one of the best horror movie characters of all time. After this movie Craven was just involved in the third movie that was Dream Warrior (my personal favorite) and after that he made Wes Craven's New Nightmare, he wanted to complete an original trilogy, but it's a shame he couldn't. So the first movie was awesome, in that time it scared the sh... out of people with a villain that can control your dreams and actually kill you in real life, we love you Krueger, Englund you were born to do this character. Fun fact: Wes Craven said once that this movie was based on a group of teens that actually died while they were dreaming.

So that was it, we love you Craven and we will miss you so hard. You're the inspiration of many directors from these days. Thanks to you the hills have eyes, the serpent will always be with the rainbow, and we will scream when we have... a nightmare on Elm Street.
